How do I access the Island with my vehicle?
The Island is tidal, meaning a road is available to access the Island during low tide.    You may drive your vehicle across the access road during the Low Tide access times.    Cars, trucks, bicycles, RVs, school buses, and Group Tour buses can easily access the Island.

How do I access the Island during high tide?
A passenger ferry service is available during high tide.   You may drive your vehicle across the access road during the High Tide access times.  There is no extra charge for the ferry.  You may, if you wish, make a donation to sustain this feature of Ministers Island.

Where do I park?
Park your vehicle on Bar Road and speak to the Ferry Boat Captain or a Tour Guide.   This area is not monitored by our Van Horne Estate on Ministers Island Inc.  Please secure your vehicle.  Ministers Island is not responsible for loss or damage caused to property left on Bar Road.

I want to visit for a day.  How can I get a Day Pass?
Day Passes are:

$15 for Adults
$10 for Students/Seniors
$25 for Couples
$50 for families
Children under 10 are free

I am interested in a Season Pass.  How can I get one?
Season Passes are given in exchange for a donation to Ministers Island and you will receive an official tax receipt for the full amount.  Season Passes are:
$25 Scout Pass is access for ONE
$50 Enthusiast Pass is access for TWO for Students/Seniors
$50 NB Student Family Pass is access for a New Brunswick family of FIVE
$100 Steward Pass is access for a family of FIVE and participation in the NARM program

Are you on a limited income and can’t afford a Season Pass?  No worries!
The Island offers complimentary passes to volunteers.  For more information, please write in confidence to [email protected].

How do I make arrangements for a group tour with a guide?
E-mail [email protected] or call Visitor Services at 877 386 3922.

How can I become a Full Member and support the Island?
Ministers Island relies on donations to preserve and restore the Island.
Ambassador Memberships are $200 and entitle you to a vote at our AGM, a large Community Garden plot, participation in the NARM program and VIP invites at events.
Associate Memberships are available for $500 for groups of 20-50
Corporate Memberships are $1000 for groups of 50+

How can I volunteer?
If you wish to become actively involved with the Island on a volunteer basis, we offer a Scout Pass in exchange for participation on our Beautification and Special Events Committees.  Send us an email in confidence to [email protected]

ISLAND USE

Is the Island available for weddings and special events?
Yes!  The Island has been the location for films, weddings, family reunions, school groups and group tours.    To schedule a private viewing of the Island for your event, please contact [email protected]

May I take photographs while on the Island?
Yes!  Visitors may photograph the Island as they wish.

ARTIFACT RECOVERY

I believe I have a Van Horne artifact.  Can I donate it?
Yes!  A goal of our organization is to reclaim items sold during the auction on the Island in 1977.  If you believe you have an artifact belonging to the Van Horne estate, please contact us! Several hundred items have been recovered and although we may not be able to offer a cash payment, we may be able to dedicate the item and offer an official tax receipt for its return.  Please contact us for more information [email protected].
